Sewing report

This is as far as I got on my 3 WISP for the challange. I ran out of fabric for borders. I have ordered fabrics and just have to wait paciantly for it to arrive. So, this quilt is back in the WISP box.

In stead I have worked on this pink Jelly Roll quilt. I found it a bit short by using only the Jelly Roll so I added a white border on top and bottom before adding a pink border. On the white border I added some applique. The top is finished. It in a bag ready to go to the Long Arm quilter. I could not go today due to heavy snow.

Today I've been working on two other projects. No photos yet.

What I am working on

I have been looking for a pattert for a lovely pink Moda Jelly Roll I got for my birthday. On day, while resting my badly squeezed finger, I looked through some of my books and found this pattern. I found one this book called Garden Trellis.

My pink version looks like this. I need about 1,6 meter of additional fabric for frame and binding. I might take a trip to my local quiltstore today.

I have signed up for May Britt and Kris' WISP challange. This will be my first WISP to finish this year. I finished the top in May 2008. Yesterday I tacked the layers together (top, batting and backing).

I used my new tool Micro Stitch . Well, new or new, I bought it in August but have not tested it earlier. You know, one of those Got to Have tools! Anyway it worked nicely for keeping the layers together. I'll give my coments on how it works in quilting process.

And my finger ? It's blue, green and yellow and healing slowly.

Take care and watch your fingers!

Ouch, ouch, I'm hurt!

I had an accident this morning. My finger got stuck in the car door. Ouch it hurts!! Now , about 6 hours later it looks like this and still hammering. I am a bit disabled today. Hope its better tomorrow.

I'm not used to write with one finger on left hand and five on right hand :-)

Anyone who wish to blow on my blue finger to make it better??

First new project 2009

I know, I know. I'm suppose to work on UFO's or WISP's. I'm getting to those.

But first I got such an urge to make something new. I found this stash of flanell samples and cut them all in 5 1/2" squares. On top I added a piece of beige flanell. The lovely cars is a free pattern from Sindy Rodenmyers site. I have made the cars a bit smaller than the original pattern. I plan to add an additional border before binding. This is going to be a charity quilt.

I have some more flanel samples in green and rust. I hope to do another charity quilt with those.
Oh, it was really good to get back to my sewing machine!!

My finished projects 2009 Challange

May Britt did it again!! She got me to sign up for a new challange! She and Kris have put their head together for this callange. OK, I was not that hard to convince SMILE. I have an unknown number of WISP's in bags and boxes. A kick in the butt is just what I need.
I'll start right away. My first project will be a new one. I have some flanell samples (small pieces) and I'm going to make a top for a charity - For children with cancer or long term disease ( Tepper som varmer).
In our Scandinavian Yahoo-list there is a 5 before 5 challange, so I just as well signe up for thatone too.
