Christmas cookies

Today I have decorated some gingerbread hearts. It was a lot of fun but also a bit messy. I realize that I have not done cake decoration in meny years. I have made another sort of Norwegian Christmas cookies too today. My recepie calls for a good splash of cognac and DH love them :-)

Autumn

This weekend DH and I have worked in the garden preparing for winter. Tulips, Crocus and Snowbells are in the soil, but in the nic of time. In the back yard the top soil was frosen ( living on the top of the hill we get all the extream wether to the back yard).

Can you belive this, my garden is still blooming despite of the cold. I guess this is the last bouquet I pick before winter cover it all.

Walks in the woods

I love autumn and walks in the woods. It is fun to bring goodies like this home. Thursday was especially incoming and I brought home this lot. All of it is prepared and packed in the freezer. The Cook is looking forward to many dishes with the lovely taste of mushroom.

Say hallo to our new pet. Pusur came to our house about two months ago. He is a funny little fellow who loves to play. He also finds unexpected places to fall asleep.

October already

Time passes fast! It is quite unbelievable that my last post was in April! Have you all wondered what is going on? Well, a lot of things have been going on. I will not bother you with all of it, but here are a few hints: PC- trouble, I pad, disappointment over blogger tools for I pad, problem with teacher using my pattern unrightfully for classes at Nordic Quilt Gathering in May (what really pissed me off!), loss of muse, long and lazy summer and autumn and the flu.

Well, there have not been much sewing going on in my sewing room lately. A few projects have been started; a few projects have been completed. The funniest thing is that I have misplaced my camera and all my photos is on my I pad and IPhone and I can’t figure out how to transfer them to this computer!

I’ll be back Smilefjes

Scissors

I am a bit disapointed that only two bloggers wanted to show their scissors. For that reason I will award both of them. Congratulation!

Rugs

A week by the loom is over. Now I need to rest a bit. My arms, shoulders and butt are sore. I made several rugs out of old blue jeans.

One rug for my Easter decorated kitchen.

I also made one rug to put in front of the veranda door. This rug had to go with my brown leather sofas and the big rug under the sofa table.

Week 7 2012

I have given classes in Egersund this weekend. We had some fun days playing with scraps. The Egersund group was great. Thank you for having me. Some snapshots from the weekend.

I also got to attend their regular quilt meeting on Monday. I stay at my mom’s this week playing with another kind of scraps – weaving. My mom owns a loom so I combine visiting and borrowing her loom about twice a year. Ok, I do visit her other than that, but the weaving thing I do once or twice a year. This time I am doing rugs out of blue jeans. I used my June Taylor Shape Cut ruler to cut strips from blue jeans. It is a dusty mess, but fun. The cutting was done last summer outdoors.

Sneak peeks to come.

Premier knitting

Past week I really needed a break from sewing projects and text work for classes and pattern. It actually felt very good to do some simple knitting for premier project Amanda. My Baby Born doll is a great model. (Also used for birthday and X-mas gift projects).

Guttelue og sokker flere luer og sokker

While knitting I enjoyed watching TV and company with DH. We had a nice anniversary dinner on Saturday and I got a nice gift of Pearls. Yes, right! Married for 30 years. I can hardly believe it (or how DH has tolerated all my sewing mess all this years!).

Ok I’m off NLQ on Friday morning for classes. Looking forward to a fun weekend and scrap quilting.  My suitcases are just within the limit!  I bring as many modells as possible.
