Quilting

Isn't this a beauty? A friend of mine, working with interior decoration, have bought this one with the CompuQuilter unit. Yesterday I quiltet one of my quilts on it! It was so much fun!

This is a blue scrap quilt made several years ago. Now it's quilted and just need the binding.

This is Kikki, the proud owner........

...... and me the student :-) Kikki is teaching me to use the unit. I hope to rent time to quilt my own quilts that I can not manage in my normal sewing machine. Next lesson (read next quilt) is going to be in two weeks time. I have 4 more quilttops to be quilted + several in progress :-)

Have a nice day.

Hugs from Nancy

How great that you can borrow this one. Struggling with big quilts on small ordinary sewingmachines is........well....that's why I have not quilted the two big ones I have in my pile of UFO's. What pattern did you use???

Awww, you're a cutie! Aren't you lucky to have the opportunity to play with a big machine. What a good idea to rent time on them -- maybe that idea will catch on here.

Det var virkelig flott å se denne maskinen. Har hørt mye om den fra Kjerstin på Lille Mille. Kanskje jeg må ta meg en tur sørover når jeg en gang får ferdig de store prosjektene. Flott blogg du har laget deg. (PS. Er Kjerstins storesøster. Hils når du ser henne.)

This look great, maybe you will buy one machine and put into you big new sewing studio? Nice to try and rent time to quilt. You will finish many quilts faster than handquilting.

Oops - just tried to comment but it didn't show up - hope it doesn't come along twice now!

Anyway, I said, you are really lucky to have access to a longarm machine - I also have a friend who has one and I rent time from her, so I know exactly how you feel. It's great fun and also, much easier for all those big quilts. I still have a lot of them that need to be finished, though...

Good that you could learn with a friend.......... I do hope I can save enough for a machine like that one day.

I am very lucky to have a local shop that will rent out the long arm quilting machine by the hour.
I have taken a class on the Long Arm- such fun!
