Ruler update

My braid quilt is comming together. I have made 8 rows using 50 Trapezoids in each row. My plan is to add 6 inch border. For that I have to buy more fabric :-)

Ofcause I cut too many Trapezoids pluss some misshaps. This became the start of a new project and testing a new ruler.

I have so many diffrent rulers that i have not tested so I desided to do just that. I don't know if it is a good idea. Just look at the pile of rulers i picked out. And this even all of my unused rulers.

I picked out the Trapezoid by Creative Grids to try because my first atempt with this ruler did not turn out like I expected.

In the folder it said you could make a Don Quixote block (like block A in my EQ7printout). I used 2 1/2 inch strip like the ruler is ment for. My Don Quixote block ended up rectangular 6 1/2 by 81/2 inch. I desided to make another block using the pieces I already cut. My block turned out like this (block B)

This is how my quilt turned out.

Next project is to use same ruler for a Braid quilt. I have already started :-)

Sewing in January

I have finished two kits that I receivd in the Advent calender from my mom.

First one is a tabelrunner that was a mysteryquilt on a Scandinavian onlinegroup.

The second one is a pattern from AnnAKa.

Moving forward

January 2013

The best month ever! January 8th DH took us all to Aruba for two weeks an to celebrate his 60th birthday. We had the best time ever. Leaving snowy and cold weather in Norway to pleasent sunbathing weather in January is deeply recomended. Returning was not so fun. Aruba + 30gr C, Gardermoen Norway - 22gr C. My newly laid nailpolish crached in cold!

Does not this look fantastic?

Well, January went in a jiffy.
